I enjoy the look and feel of a finished room, but I am always on the lookout for new ways to decorate. I recently bought a home that has a very large kitchen with a long island, so that is where I’ll be most likely to decorate. Since I’m the one who’s writing this, I guess the real question is, why would you want to do a renovation project in the first place. I mean, it’s going to cost you a lot of money. The other thing to consider is if you don’t want to live in a tiny apartment with a tiny kitchen, then maybe you should just be a renter and not a DIYer.
Of course! But just like most other forms of renovating, it’s important to consider some of the downsides, too. Like the time it takes to complete a job. And it’s nice to have a place to do a bunch of work on, but when you’re doing it on your own, you need to think of the consequences of your actions.
As for the benefits of working on your own, I’m sure your co-workers probably don’t appreciate your spending a lot of time on the phone for them to fill out forms. But at the end of the day, if you do it on your own, you can also do it on your own schedule. You can plan it out and make sure the work is done when you’re supposed to be.
A great example of this is a few nights ago when I was doing some work on my own. I got a call from my co-worker asking if I could come in for a conference call. I said sure, and I went to the conference room, plugged it into the projector and started the conference call. It went really well. But I didn’t know it at the time, because I was working on a project and didn’t have the project to go to.
