A recent New Yorker article by Alex Ross on the “maverick city” genre of music, as well as the latest singles from the likes of Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, has us all feeling like we have our shit together.

It was written by three members of the maverick city collective, Rufus, Raul, and Korna. This song is also the third single from their latest album, which you should probably go listen to.

I’ve always said that the New People are a great band. I love their music and I think it’s a great thing they’ve done with this new album. There’s no question that these songs have great melodies and great riffs and their sound is so reminiscent of the New Jersey of the 1980s. I’m just glad that the film The New York City has at least one music song to match.
